3. YEARBOOK PROFILE PHOTOSHOOT for those who havn't done it yet because they were away or has to get it redone due to bad quality etc will be doing it after Trials on the 24th August, Tuesday at lunch @ Ms Adam's room. Be there! or else you'll miss out! Tell your friends!

ENTRY A

Description of the concepts involved
When picking a yearbook cover, I know many of you would ask the question, "how does this involve us?" To answer this, I decided to do a photo collage of the grade with my source being Facebook. I tried to include everyone but I'm really sorry if I missed out on you. For those I couldn't find on Facbook, I endeavored to take the photos myself (with help). I decided to do a simple design, something that screams out "THIS ISN'T OVER" So I used a "day and night theme" to pretty much represent the memories of highschool. I also included quotes on the back to motivate and remind you what the future has install for all of us.
What inspired your design?
Unfortunately, english inspired me. All that talk about belonging to forests, the value of nature, etc yea, for some reason it was stuck in myhead when I did this. Sorry to bring back nightmares. Sincerest apologies.

- Title "Colbalt 20x" => This is to say that our year is the most explosive (fun) as well as a variation on Colbalt-60 and the colour blue (Colbalt)
- Superhero => Maybe to be more like us since he was a teenager like we are and is what in my opinion what we are as a group
- Factory background - typical superhero scene
- Wheel symbol => CVH's symbol
What inspired your design?
- Superheroes especially Robin and Green Lantern
- Our uniform
- The year's personality overall to me

Cover Competition Help?

Hi everyone :)

Hope your holidays are awesomee so far!

For the participants of the Yearbook Cover Competition, you can find samples of previous yearbook covers from different schools that have been done here. Perhaps that'll give you guys an idea as to what kinda thing we're expecting =]

COVER COMPETITION

HI GUYS!

The Yearbook Committee have decided to make things a little more interesting, and host a competition for our yearbook :D As per the result, our yearbook theme will be comic-styled, incorporating SUPERHEROES. That essentially means that our yearbook will have a real comic-book feel to it.

Anyway, here are the competition details:

Task: To design our YEARBOOK COVER
Details: It must be designed to incorporate the yearbook theme (Superheroes/comic), templates sizes are available for download below. ALSO, it MUST contain the school logo somewhere.. :)

You can design the yearbook cover in many ways:

1. Using Microsoft Publisher - For this, you won't need to download any additional template, Just create it using your normal Microsoft Publisher settings
2. Using Adobe Illustrator - Download template
3. Using Adobe InDesign - Download template
4. Using Adobe Photoshop - Download template

Due date: 10:00PM SUNDAY 2nd MAY 2010 --Entries will not be accepted after this time and date.

Submission: Once you think you're done, attach it in an email and send it off to cvhsyearbook2010@hotmail.com.

Now you're probably wondering, "What's in it for me if I win? My cover gets used for the yearbook? Pfft, that's all?" Well guess what? There's a prize (duh.. LOL)

The winner gets a $50 discount off their yearbook, compliments of the Yearbook Committee ;)

Update update update!

Hi guys!

The surveys are due by THIS WEDNESDAY (15th March 2010), if you don't somehow get your surveys to us by that date, then we're really sorry but we're not going to chase you up for it :(:(:(, because we do have other important things to do, especially with the half yearlies coming up! :'( Your vote just won't count this time round. Don't worry though, there'll be more surveys coming out throughout the year! =D

Also, the poll for yearbook themes ENDS on the 21st MARCH 2010. So tell everyone to vote! It looks like the Superhero theme is in the lead at the moment with about 47% of the votes to date!

FINALLY, the yearbook committee are looking for volunteers who are good with photoshop and who would like to help design the yearbook to it's chosen theme which will be unveiled in a few days time! :D

The SURVEYS!

Hi everyone again!

As some of you may already know, the yearbook committee are currently handing out a sheet for you guys to fill out for different categories e.g. Most athletic, etc.

There have been alot of the same questions/comments flying around, so we're going to answer those right here!

I don't like some of the categories here x_x
Throughout the year, there will be a LOT more surveys going around, and at the end, we'll pick a few of the BEST ones to put in the yearbook, so it's all fair.

Can I give some new suggestions?
YES, just put your suggestions on some empty space on that survey sheet when you hand it back to us and we'll take it into consideration.

How come I don't have a survey-sheet yet? :(
As you know, there are 11 members of the yearbook committee and 159 students. Each Committee member is hence in charge of about 14-15 people in our grade, making sure they get surveys, making sure they pay deposits, making sure they hand photos in etc. These are the groups:

First post! + progress

Hi everyone! :D

It's REALLY important that if you're going to purchase a yearbook, that you tell us as soon as possible, because we need to inform the company that's publishing them. The cost will be AROUND $70, and it will be a HARDCOVER book.

Just to update you all on what's happening with our yearbook:

- We'll be publishing with Rockstar Memoirs
- To upload photos that you would like to be seen in the yearbook, go HERE
- We're currently handing out little questionnaires for you to fill in by this Friday!

Also, we're going to begin voting on a theme for the yearbook now.
